The 132nd Global Star Party - Sept 26, 2023

I was invited to give a presentation, (watched by over 10,000 globally on Zoom) on the value and how-to for asteroid occultations, and how they contribute to understanding asteroids, and even protecting Earth. This "Global Star Party" had several luminaries among amateur and semi-professional astronomers who have discovered new comets, supernovae, invented new telescope designs, and other important work. My talk was given by Zoom, and my invitation was from Pranvera Hyseni; a doctoral student at UC Santa Cruz, and a designer, fund-raiser, and leader of the team that created the newest and largest astronomical research institution in her home country of Kosovo.

My 42 slide PowerPoint Presentation lasted 1/2 hour of the 4 hour Zoom star party. Following the presentation, there was an extended Q/A by people around the world who participated in this event. I was on the GSP Zoom for 3 hours, and spent another 3 hours creating and assembling the slides for this presentation.
