A Spring Run up Fall Creek State Park

May 27, 2013

Fall Creek has some of the most beautiful running trails in northern California. It's only 7 miles from Santa Cruz, and I've resolved to run here more often. The trails are steeper and more technical than those at Nicene Marks, but both places are an absolute runner's paradise compared to most places, so why not enjoy both? I have needed reminding of the beauty of the world lately, and so this weekend's long run (11 miles) would be here...

A quiet pool along Fall Creek, good for a nice cold soak for my head

The Fall Creek trail turns to a billygoat trail past the Big Ben turnoff, which I took. After a mile of steep climbing, it leveled out for a while, through these tan oaks.
