I grabbed a quick 2 mile run to the beach, and after getting out the door, quickly reversed and grabbed my little Lumix, as a beautiful sunset was developing. Didn't have time to doff the shoes and run barefoot through the surf as I usually do - I had to meet Ferrell for our Friday swim at the gym, and then on to the observatory to meet Austin and Becky and Chris A for photography of Comet Lovejoy. Or, such was the plan. We did meet at the observatory after my swim, but the promising gap in the west that allowed the underside of these dramatic clouds to be so nicely lit... never arrived here. The comet photography will have to await another day.
