This seemed like a worthy early summer expedition. I drove from Santa Cruz to attempt to observe both the Klymnestra occultation and Alma occultations on the same night from Grand View Campground in the White Mountains of eastern California. Afternoon thunderstorms left clouds which persisted through the evening and ruined any attempt at Klytaemnestra. It was clear by the early morning for the Alma event, and I successfully found the star and got the 8" Meade, pc164c, and VCR recording successfully. The result - a definite miss. No occultation. Bummer! And to make it worse, I managed to leave my $200 Italian frame glasses at the campground, never to be seen again!
