Hypatia Occultation Feb 23, 2005

Asteroid, Star: (238) Hypatia and TYC 0714-00946-1 mag 10.9

Telescope: 10" Meade LX200 f/10 with Celestron f/6.3 reducer

Location: Coast Road resevoir. W.Long= 122° 08' 16", N. Lat= 36 59 27.1, elev 525ft, WGS84 coordinates from USGS map at topozone.com

Method: Visual with WWV and audio tape.

Sky: clear, average seeing at the 16 degree altitude of the star. Star continuously visible as was the neighboring mag=11.3 star.

Results: A near miss. No occultation happened at this station.
