A close-knit group of good characters graced this semester's Astro 8A class. Well done, gang. A pleasure to share evenings under the stars with you all! Proudly displaying their astrophotography projects, and on the back whiteboard is our class light curve for T Monocerotis, a Cepheid Variable star, and the RV Tauri type variable star U Monocerotis on the far left. Winners in the light curve match with the "real" data were Jay for U Mono.
Below is our gallery page, still under construction by me. Some temporary notes for my own grading purposes are also there, for the moment....

I've been conferring with Philippe Deverchere in Europe, the writer of our fine free software C2A on a COM port problem on our computer, and he just sent me an impromptu photo of a favorite spring object, the M81/M82 galaxy duo. 11 hours!! Outstanding image from no doubt a much better place than our sea level canyon bottom. Well done! this is what can be done with a good amateur scope and site. |
