This was my public talk for the Fall Semester, on climate. This time, the long-promised talk on climate solutions and an assessment of their value, promise and pros/cons. This, within a larger context of the post-IPCC climate science showing how serious our situation is. I framed the solutions within classifications of technology improvements to civilized life, policy initiatives, and geo-engineering. All, was judged by including civilization as a thermodynamic system, and how this constrains our options and what we can hope to achieve. We had about 35 people in attendence, mostly from the climate activist community in Santa Cruz, and a few of my students.
