This event was to be the centerpiece of the Astro 25 "Field Astronomy in the California Mountains" course, to Carrizo Plain. Alas, the CoVid-19 virus attack has locked up all classes as now remote teaching. However, I still hope - weather permitting - to get down there either w/ college van or by myself. Things change all the time, but perhaps Kirk will be available and willing? Or Chris K? I'd like to video record not just the occultation, but also the setup and procedures. It'll be valuable for helping future students use the new Occ Unit #3 when it's ready.
Star is 11.7 in western Cancer at 61 deg altitude at 8:30pm and getting lower towards event time, when 50 deg up in SW. No problem with mount and camera contact.
