Dear CFMIP Community,
Registration is now open for the CFMIP Virtual Meeting on Clouds,
Precipitation, Circulation, and Climate Sensitivity, September 14-17,
2020 at https://forms.gle/12HB9NZpjBmdrxbe8. Registration will close on
07 September 2020. There is no fee to register. Links for virtual
sessions will only be available to registered attendees. As a part of
registration, all are invited to submit a slide with a figure with a
short written summary to be displayed on the meeting website and used
for discussion as a part of the sessions and at local hubs. You will
need to provide this file in .jpg format as a link (e.g., from dropbox,
googledrive etc.) when you register.
A reminder that due to the ongoing pandemic, the 2020 CFMIP meeting will
be held online. Each day's 1.5 hour session will feature 2-3 invited
speakers and discussion moderated by the session conveners. All sessions
will be available both live at the following time:
London/Exeter 15:00 UTC+1
Paris/Toulouse/Stockholm 16:00 UTC+2
New York/Florida 10:00 UTC-4
Colorado 08:00 UTC-6
California/Seattle 07:00 UTC-7
Taipei 22:00 UTC+8
Tokyo/Ulsan 23:00 UTC+9
Sydney 00:00 UTC+10 (next day)
All sessions will be recorded and available online for one month after
the meeting. We encourage "local hubs", i.e., groups of scientists who
discuss/present at times and within forums that are locally convenient.
There are no rules for the hubs!! They can be as small as a group
meeting or as large as a formal workshop within the CFMIP virtual
workshop. They can be in person, for places that are allowed to gather,
or on-line. It could be a gathering of watching the recorded invited
talks, especially for places where the meeting time is to late to watch
live, followed by more discussions or a mini-workshop with contributed
talks.
All meeting information is available at our meeting website:

Dear CFMIP participants,
We look forward to seeing you at the virtual meeting soon!!
Below is a list of zoom links about the two local hubs after each session. Join them for more in-depth discussions! They both take place everyday from Monday to Thursday this week, we'll also paste the zoom links in the zoom chat toward the end of each session.
Meanwhile, we are also still looking for volunteers to host more local hubs. Please see the end of this e-mail for a new hub organized by Maria Rugenstein! E-mail us if you'd also like to host one. It only takes two to host a hub ;-) If you have a collaborator that you always look forward to catching up with at the annual meeting, maybe hosting a local hub together could keep the conversation going. If you would like to present and discuss the contributed slides, please consider organizing a hub with a specific theme, and we can help you to call for more that are interested. The local hubs could also take place a week or two after the virtual meeting. Let's make September the month to connect with the CFMIP community.
Best,
Yen-Ting Hwang
