This path goes centrally over Santa Cruz, and is a rare asteroid with confirmed moons. Two of them. However, the drop is only 1.0 magnitude which cold be difficult in a very short event. The first moon has a central duration of 0.7 seconds, and the second moon only 0.35 seconds. Also, the events happen just 5 degrees west of the full moon in Leo.
Kirk and I both got good data. I got this from the UCSC Upper Meadow crossing, then raced home, packed, and headed off to Carrizo Plain for a day long 17 mile trail run to Caliente Peak. A very full day!
Sky Plane plot, with well-fitting DAMIT photometry and other observers.
Note: 1/13/23 - Dave Herald notified me the elevation was incorrect, and I fixed it on the IOTA report and submitted a new report to IOTA, and Dave Herald and Dave Gault.
