Preston Predictions

This event will miss Santa Cruz, but there's a significant effort being made in SoCal and Arizona for this bright favorable event, and to help look for satellites Kirk and Karl and I are planning on trying it.

Well, all 3 of my team got skunked... Karl had clouds, and I had intermittant clouds and then when I ID'd the field and swapped in the Watec, I couldn't get it to focus, and tried various solutions until I ran out of time, and only then realized that I'd forgotten to mount the f/3.3 reducer! Kirk thought he was OK in his driveway, but at crunch time a tree was in the way and by the time he moved and re-acquired, time was up. Lack of planning and execution foiled me and Kirk. Not our usual A-game!
