This is an occultation by a comet. We should be alert for any dust near the object which might cause fading. Suggest 2x setting and slightly defocused star to detect dust fading. Don't want to have saturated pixels. It's at 72 deg altitude so shove scope fully up the rail bar and also tilt the legs to accomodate. It's almost due above the North Star so change in altitude will be minimal during the setup and event.
Got a long recording of the star, well out of focus, and the brightness light curve looked good despite the twinkling all through the "donut" of the star. No occultation. A miss for Kirk as well. My miss report sent in 2/21/22.
