The Occultation of a 14.3 star by Bitias

This event has high odds from Cabrillo Observatory, and it's in the middle of my Astro 8A class. I wish I could get it with the 12" scope but not prepared for that at this moment. We'll see. The duration is 2.6s which means I could do a long integration and hopefully still get it with the 8". A 70% gibbous moon is 35 degrees away, so this one is tough. The azimuth is right along the access road where the horizon is best, so it might be do-able with the 12" if we can swap out the CCD camera and if the timeout's with the serial port can be solved.

The low altitude and bright moon made it impossible to get above 16x integration, and the target was not visible. I'll see if I can use 'finders' to bring it out, but unlikely this one will yield a positive event. Kirk recorded it from home, and also commented he could not integrate higher than 16x without the sky being so bright no stars could be seen. He tried "finders" as long as 300 integrations w/o luck.
