This is a high rank event but a faint star. The drop is 0.8 magnitude from 13.9, and the duration is up to 8.1 seconds. At 27 degrees altitude due south 170=Az, in Hydra. Use a good long integration to see the star, since the event lasts up to 8 seconds, and even for a short event is likely to be over 1 second. Maybe 16x or 32x?
Only Karl tried it, but got confused on when the event was and did not begin the taping until 1 minute too late. Fog in Santa Cruz, and too far outside the path for reasonable odds so Kirk and I skipped it.
