This is a high rank event, good brightness, good altitude =26, Az=199 in Sagittarius. The target is about 2 diameters away from the globular cluster NGC 6544, making it easy to locate with our 8SE scopes. Full drop for 1.3s for use short integration. The main trouble is the high smoke content in the atmosphere, which may complicate. Fog looks like it may permit getting it from Sunlit Lane, my choice for a site.
Target is halfway between the Lagoon Nebula (M8) and GC NGC 6544. They are both in the Q70 eyepiece. No need for RA/Dec coordinates!
Heavy deep fog threatened, but my look at the satellite images had enough hope that I might get above it at the top of Bonny Doon that I went for it. But there at the Upper Summit road, it was still soupy "Casablanca" style fog. So I turned around and drove home. Kirk planned to get from home but was fogged out, as was Karl.
