The event snakes through the southern SC Mtns; Karl is almost on the northern limit, and I at Olive Springs am some inside the southern limit. We're risking a miss, but very likely one of us will get it. 0.6s duration makes this a bit easier than some recent events. Bright too. It should be doable if the path is as accurate as advertised.

I got a recording from the upper entrance to Olive Springs quarry. I was at Cabrillo Observatory with Astro 8A till midnight, dozed a bit and woke up late, rushed madly and got to the site with 14 minutes to spare. I set up as fast and efficiently as possible, and while I could not ID the field in the eyepiece, at the last moment I simply trusted the 2-star align, and put in the Watec and did another GoTo, and was able to move the scope just a bit and bring the target in. I recorded at 4x. I did not see an event while I watched, but will examine in PyMovie before any judgment.

Set up at home under clear skies. Got a recording at 8x. First impression on playback was that it was a miss.
