The Occultation of a R=12.6 Star by Asteroid 4125 T-2

This is a rank=87 event passing over northern Santa Cruz, with the southern limit hitting downtown. The 1-sigma zone includes Kirk, Karl, and I'm on the southern limit. The RUWE is a poor 3.95, however, so that adds additional uncertainty to the prediction. But, if we have time, it's worth a try from home, which I intend to do.

The Alt=18, Az=112, in Scutum.

The favorable aspects are: No moon, clean sky, full 1.0s duration, so we can set it at 8x for a good chance at getting good data.

Results:

I was the only one to try this. I had a clear shot at it, over the house across the street. Skies were ~dry, and seemed it would be dark enough. However, the low altitude did brighten skies, and the target star was significantly fainter than I thought it would be. In fact, even at 16x it was completely invisible. I did a recording but got no usable data.
