This event has a wide path with Karl near the centerline. I'm on the western edge, but will plan to drive to Cabrillo Observatory to try it, and also work on the focusing issue for the Watec camera. That will put me solidly inside the path. Kirk's just outside the path, not sure at this moment what his plan is.
Alt=62, Az=250 in Coma Berenices. Not far from IC 3141, a 14.5 mag S0 galaxy which could be a quick GoTo option
I saw a ~miss from Cabrillo Observatory, Kirk observed from Arana Gulch further west of me. Karl saw a 1+ second positive from home. And, Yanhzi Liu in SiValley had two stations that were between Karl and me, and they showed a double occultation. I will need to study my tape carefully to see if there's a hint of an event. Kirk likely had a solid "miss" from the track position. And confirmed by his data - a miss.
I observed from Cabrillo Observatory. I went back/forth from 4x to 8x, settling on 8x despite the poorer time resoluton. The star at 8x was very solid and easy to see, and if a 1 sec event it would show nicely. I perhaps now should have done 4x, given Yanzhi Liu's "graze" and Karl's occultation. I was very close to the limit, as it turned out.
Observed from home, and had a miss.
His review of his tape on his big screen TV indicates a ~1s event. Not reduced by me, yet. This will be important since Liu's nearby track showed a graze.
