This is a very bright easy event. You MUST do it at 1x setting, even then it will very likely be saturated, but to get any valid partial occultations or double star or binary asteroid readings with good confidence we need to minimize any saturated pixels. The duration is 0.3s, the rank is not great, but not horrible. The odds on the centerline are higher than 64% and 47% on the shadow edges. Karl, you're pretty far from the event at home. If you're adventurous, then come down to "Blue Ball Park" on Old SJ road.
There is another good event just 2.0 minutes later, so don't spend a lot of time waiting for this one. After 10s after the event, then swing over to Lilea and leave in the Watec camera and immediately crank up the integrations to 4x before trying to ID the star field for Leila. The Lilea event lasts 20 seconds, so we're already going to lose some valuable pre-event time hunting for moonlets.
I observed from cul-de-sac of Pine Ridge Rd in BD. At 1x, star was still very bright and likely saturated but not sure. It looked extremely steady in brightness, no scintillation that I could tell, which suggests saturation. No hint of an occultation at 1x visually, but 1/50s events could certainly escape by-eye, as the eye/brain integration at about 1/10s.
Got recording from "The Berm", but no guess as to result
Did not attempt, path looked too far out of reach
No word yet.
