This is a decent event. Bright enough that the 0.6s duration should be detectable without much trouble. Try for 2x if possible. Alt=30, Az=94, halfway from Pollux to Procyon. The drop is 6 mags. Centerline is Mar Monte Rd, but you can get inside the path at the SC Lighthouse, and almost as good is Natural Bridges Rd. But the duration will no doubt be more like 0.2s instead of 0.6s and might be lost in the noise. Does not come near Karl.

Kirk and I drove south to get into the northern edge of the path which hugged the Santa Cruz coastline, and got data. Karl was too far north off the shadow to make an attempt worthwhile.
I set up in the parking lot of the Santa Cruz Lighthouse, out at Steamer Lane. I chose the parking slot nearest the east side, with a dark(ish) view to the target.

I got a 0.2383 sec positive for Morgado on Jan 23, 2x on Swanton Blvd. by the Natural Bridges entrance. I tried different aperture mask sizes, including 2.4px, but size 3.2px gave the best results.

My observed event duration of 0.28s fits nicely with Kirk's 0.24 s, consistent with both of us being on the north side of the shadow, and Kirk closer to the northern limit than I was. As predicted. The event's actual observed UT time, however, was late.
