This is a bright event, long enough to get good data if skies are clear. The centerline goes right over Karl's place. I've set out an site icon at the realty lot on Hwy 17 just below Summit, which we've used in the past. Another good spot would be on the north side, at Mtn Charlie Monument.
Prediction is for clouds to come in just before the event, so it'll be a last minute decision whether this is worth the trip.
Sorry; this one needs to be left-right flipped to agree with our eyepiece view... |

Here is the eyepiece view, properly flipped. |
I drove Kirk to the red abandoned realty place on Hwy 17 near Summit, then continued on to Mtn Charlie Monument for myself. But I tried to do too much this evening, and in the rush to get on the road after Kirk arrived at my place, I forgot to grab my iPhone (with the charts on it), and also left the camcorder softcase at home! So I was dead in the water. I drove back down to Kirk's set up and watched as he got a recording at 2x. Unknown if he got an event, but Karl observed at home on the centerline and thought visually that he had a miss, but at 8x setting, which is not good time resolution for this 0.5s event. Karl thinks he had a miss.
Sees a positive on playback. I got a .3670s event for 2000 WS38, 2x from the summit parking lot, a second later than predicted. Interestingly, it has a single integration spike in the middle of the event, probably just noise/scintillation.

Not submitted to me yet. Visually looked like a miss, but the duration was short, so perhaps a quick occultation will emerge from a closer look.
