This event is quite do-able at 13.8 magnitude, alt=59, Az=184, should be easy to find. Duration = 0.9s, in Virgo. It's after my Astro 8A class  ends, with enough time to drive to above the fog, but the path makes that challenging if the fog it much above 1000 ft elevation. Karl is north of the path, still worth going for, not that far outside the path.

Fog was tough. I gave up and did not try it, nor Karl. But Kirk drove up to the Berm, where fog ended his attempt. No data from our team, but Kirk earns a "purple heart" for casualty in battle!
