Not an easy event, at alt=18 degrees and only 0.4s duration. But won't lose sleep at least. In Sagittarius, above the Teaspoon, and 12 degrees below left of the Aquila tail feathers.
At 18 degrees; 12.6 will look like a 13.2 star would look at a more typical but good altitude of 60 degrees. A 13.2 in clear skies would require 8x to see well enough to get an event. 8x is 1/6th of a second, and the max event time is 0.4s. That means 2.5 integrations for max 0.4s. PyOTE requires 3 integrations to be in the occultation in order to set a D and R interval. This is just barely detectable if you get the fat part of the asteroid. I may skip this, given my other work needing done. I'll make finder charts here, for Karl, who can try from his front yard.

I set up at the BonnyDoon Eco Reserve parking lot, with Will Glass who was there for a night of astrophotography. Nice social evening, but I got skunked on the occultation. My main goal was to get more practice with the Startech recording method before the important Achates occultation Sunday night. But I got deflected from my set up by a bunch of kids whom I thought, from far away, might be Will and his friend setting up a few hundred yards from where I thought. No, it was just some kids, but that delayed me and I had to hurry now to get set up. I realized I'd forgotten the AC power for the laptop! I should have just relied on battery power (which I didn't trust), instead I tried to pull apart the OccBox and re-configure back to camcorder recording, Which I did, after more fumbling. I did get on-target without mis-GoTo'ing, but not quite in time. I started recording 15s too late. Missed it. I still did a minute of recording at 8x because I was curious about he visibility of a star this low in a moonlight sky. It turns it out it wasn't bad. I could have gotten the occultation at 8x. But the odds at BD Eco were more than 50% of a miss anyway.
Karl had trouble getting on-target in the dense star field and at low eastern altitude, and failed too. Kirk didn't attempt it.
I did get some shots of Will with his AM3 mount set up and we talked about the process, so the trip wasn't a total loss.
