This is an easy event, but predictions are not great. Rank is OK, if we can believe it. But the RUWE is 1.85; higher than the 1.20 limit for good star positions. I've set a position at Sunlit Lane and will try it if the fog stays low. Karl's in good position from home.

Try it with 1x if you can. 2x if it's murky maybe. It's only 0.5s long at max.

Alt=22, Az = 140 in Aquarius, just 1 degree above the Helix Nebula, and 11 degrees straight above Fomalhaut.

Results:

Kirk did not ID the target field in time and has no data. Karl and I both got recordings OK, at sites 2 sec different in time; Sunlit lane, and "the Rock" at Karl's.

Richard Nolthenius

I got a recording from Sunlit Lane. At 2x. There was not detected event, but at 05:16:38.1775 UT there was a single drop to zero. But there were a few other drops to zero and PyOTE could not detect it. However, Karl von Ahnen also had a single drop to zero. If our drops were related, it would correspond to 05:16:36.2 for Karl.

My drop was at 5:16:38.18 UT time stamp.

Karl von Ahnen

Observed at home at "the Rock", at 2x.

Karl's dip is not 2s earlier than mine, it's only a half second.

I think both Karl's and my dips are just noise, and we have a both gotten a miss. The high RUWE makes it less surprising than I'd ordinarily conclude, given we were near the centerline.
