This event happens on Full Moon night, and is only 19 degrees from the full moon, so the sky will be bright. But the event is high at 62 degrees, and the duration is 1.0 seconds. It should be do-able. The southern limit goes through coastal Santa Cruz, the northern limit at ~Summit. Karl is inside the northern limit comfortably, and Kirk and I plan to drive up Empire Grade.

I observed this from a driveway about 1/3 mile above "the Berm", on left side of the road. Conditions were calm, very cold about 38F, and full moon. I observed at 4x setting, max gain=41. Got an obvious event.
