This is the best event of the weekend. Partly cloudy skies forecast, but the star is so bright and the event so long, that some cirrus shouldn't be a problem. Zabriski Point is perhaps the biggest showpiece icon of Death Valley. Great spot to try this event after getting sunset photography. It's then 35 minutes to drive back to Stovepipe Wells. Or, just stay at Zabriski Point, for the Klio Event at 7:52pm. Given the 15 minutes to pack up, and then pick up Kirk, then drive back to Stovepipe Wells, I thnk it would be best to try to do both events from the Furnace Creek / Zabriskie Point area. I don't think we have time to shift locations.
Annalisa has the narrow path requiring we be south of Furnace Creek and near Zabriskie Point is ideal. Klio is a wide path and we could be anywhere.
At sunset, some nice pictures from Zabriskie Point, then photo Venus and Mercury in twilight, then the occultations.

I got a successful recording of this event at 1x, from the parking lot edge on the downhill side, level with the west side edge of the bathrooms, at Zabriskie Point, Death Valley. Looked like a miss on playback. And, confirmed in the reductions.

Got a successful recording from Echo Canyon Road about 1.5 mile downhill (north) of Zabriskie Point..
I got a miss for Annalisa on Echo Canyon rd, 1x, no sign of an event. There is a rise in the middle of all the light curves, but I smoothed it away for the target on a tracking star.
I don't know why, it looked clear in the target area of the sky, could have been dust or hard to see thin cloud that got thinner in the middle of recording.
