This is a bright, long occultation, but the path will likely miss Santa Cruz. The time of night is awful. 3:28am is about as bad as it gets. I may try it from home if I can salvage most of my sleep time. The limit "graze" line is at Summit Rd and Mtn. Charlie Rd. Getting inside the path would be safer if you went to Lexington Reservoir, and have a better view of the SSW as well.

The target star is W=11.8, and OWc says Nemausa is V=11.0. If it's W=10.8 as a guess, that means the object will drop from 10.44 to 10.80 which is a drop in brightness of 29% from full. The OWc lists the mag drop = 0.29 in V and 0.59 in R. The Watec band is inbetween and so I'd estimate a mag drop of about 0.4. That means we need good S/N to detect this. That means we should use long exposures and reduce gain to maximize S/N and avoid saturation. Perhaps 4x?
I was too tired to try and drive to Mtn Charlie Rd to get a possiblity of this. The drop looked too low to be sure even if I did get a short event, and didn't hear any interest from the rest of my team. I skipped it. I'll remove this page if no other team members chime in. Ted Swift did get a positive from near Davis somewhere.
