This is a bright event with a long duration - very good for moon-hunting. Use 1x or 2x. The event is 1 hr after my Astgro 3 class gets out and I'm tempted to try to have some of my extra-credit hungry students stay late and get it from outside the classroom. If fog is due, I'll get out at 9pm and drive to above the fog,

The fog depth is predicted to be near 3,000 ft again tonight. Maybe less at 10pm which is early evening. New plan is to drive up to the HogBack if promising - hopefully with Danika meeting me at Cabrillo. Kirk put down a site in BD.
Danika drove out to my classroom where I was finishing up Astro 3-2. We couldn't accurately tell the cloud heights and thought we might be able to get above fog. We could see Antares in the southwest, so it looked worth a go. I drove up as far as to Castelegnos, and we could only watch the clouds. High clouds that were thick and unable to get above nor see through. No data. Karl clouded out. Kirk bailed due to clouds.
