8SE With f/3.3 vs 0.5x Focal Reducer Choices

On Feb 8/9 I took video of the Orion Nebula at 8x setting, using the standard configuration of f/3.3 reducer and straight through, with the BNC connector on the watec in the "up" orientation, and with the Watec with longer hard plastic extender and 0.5x Highpoint focal reducer lens, in the 1.25/2" adapter and with the Watec BNC connector rotated to be "down". The two finders (66 frames) from PyMovie are below.

Clearly, to get FOV's that are oriented properly with my chart, then in the 0.5x configuration I need to :

1. Rotate the Watec BNC connector into the 'down' orientation
2. flip the horizontal in Photoshop just like I do for the eyepiece chart version
3. Use a box that is about 75% of the size of the standard LCD C2A box

Both images below had their contrast bars adjusted to max=100, min=0 to preserve relative brightness of the stars and sky. Clearly the pixels in the f/3.3 configuration is much more illuminated.

8x setting, 66 frames Fourier Finder. Standard f/3.3 straight-through configuration. Watec BNC connector in "up" rotation

8x setting, 66 frames Fourier Finder. 05x screwed into the longer but still plastic nosepiece. Watec BNC connector rotated in "down" position. To match chart, the chart itself will have to be flipped in the horizontal direction, just as the eyepiece view is.
