This weekend began by a cold storm from the north, dusting snow on mountains down to 2000 ft. Some of the participants turned back, but those who toughed it out had a great experience as we explored the San Simeon area, and had an amazingly up-close extended photo session with the elephant seal colony nearby. And, of course, the usual fine meals and happy kids. Even a bit of astronomy, as I brought along the 10" LX200 scope and we had some views of the Orion Nebula and winter star clusters.
