2025

Apr 1 Tue - daylight occultation of Plieades around noon. on 16+ moon.

Apr 1 Tue eve 8pm - Occultation of a 13.5 Star by 2001 SE277. I've set an icon at BlueBall Park. Bernard's well placed at home. Planning page if clear

Apr 1 Tue eve 10:01pm - Occultation of a 13.2 Star by Feodosia, from wide path including all team members. Dur=6.3s. Alt=70, Az=284, will be tricky to ID early when altitude is higher than 70.  Planning page if clear

Apr 2 Wed morn 3am - Occultation of a 10.7 Star through Santa Cruz. Dur=2.5s, but altitude only 13 degrees in SE. Bad time of night; I may skip it if it doesn't clear my local horizon.

Apr 3 Thur eve 8:32pm- Occultation of an 11.5 Star by 2001 XY26, from Natural Bridges and La Selva. Dur=0.3s, rank not great. Worth a try because it's close and bright, but odds not high. However, a more high rank event we could combine with Karl is next up...
Apr 3 Thur eve 10:52pm - Occultation of a 12.0 Star by asteroid 1032 T2, Karl on centerline. Radonich Ranch good too, and nearby. Movie night if clear?

Apr 4 Fri 9-5pm - Conference at Stanford University on Existential Risk, you're reg'd already, as is Sandy Faber. See email

Apr 5 Sat - Mt Diablo 50k Race and Half Marathon  and the 50k course
Apr 5 Sat - give talk at SJAA Hough Park, on Asteroid astronomy . Community Outreach Page , and SJAA announcement page

Apr 7 Mon eve 7-8pm Uranus occults a 9th mag star. Hurt by twilight. Epsilon ring and maybe others if we can get a bigger scope. Only 1.5" from Uranus 80x brighter. Tough. But worth a try from the 12" w/ no focal reducer at Cabrillo Observatory. MIRA and FPO not available. Planning page.

Apr 9 Wed eve - Occcultation of a 13.3 star by TNO Asteroid 2012 YF12.  Planning page
